Do we really need another mall??  In West Davie??

"We live in horse country and would be greatly affected by the increase in traffic flow to our community. 31st Ct has always had a large amount of traffic & with this mall it will only increase the residential traffic problem we have now."  J&M Kendall  SW 148th Ave

The most recent threat to West Broward County, Florida, is a proposed development called "Davie Commons" which would be located just north of Arvida Parkway on the east side of I-75.  Click here for a map. 

While the development seems carefully planned for the local residents' needs for security and quality of life, the location couldn't be worse for area residents!  Buffers and restricted access simply don't eliminate what Davie Commons truly represents - a trend toward the commercialization of Shotgun Road!

Sure, it would be great to increase the commercial tax base of Davie, but is it worth selling out what Davie is to get it??  It’s not just a concern for Davie, but for all the surrounding towns that want to preserve the rural lifestyle that is rapidly eroding in West Broward.

Who are we?

This is a grass roots effort and the support and help of all concerned residents in Davie, Weston, Bonaventure, Sunshine Ranches, and Southwest Ranches is greatly needed. This website is an educational tool for concerned citizens to help spread the word of the real threat - if we open the doors to rezoning land for Davie Commons, which developer will be next trying to commercialize another Shotgun Road or any other vacant parcel??

We’ll fight it from the bottom up and time is running out as this development moves through process of getting the zoning changed to commercial from agricultural/residential.  We need your help ASAP.
